I Am Selling My Own House 12/29/2008

There I said it.  I am selling my house.  It is a perfectly beautiful house.  I have 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, in a very nice development in Florida.  Yes I am selling my house located in Florida in this market.

I have a spectacular back porch.  It is 500 square feet under a roof with skylights, totally screened in and my next neighbors are yards away, not feet.  In fact directly behind me is a vacant lot, I don’t close my blinds.  In fact I don’t have many blinds and those that I do have I do not close.

I will be putting my house on the Mid-Florida MLS and the Hernando County MLS this week and see what happens.  Oh, and here is a very daring move in todays market.  I am not putting a sign in my yard.

The reason, you ask?  I don’t intend to be the “talk” of the neighborhood is one reason.  Also as soon as you put a sign out everyone starts to treat you like you are already gone and I like my neighbors.  Another reason is I don’t want phone calls from people checking my pricing.  Oh, and here is one more reason, I don’t want tire kickers walking in and out of my house.  If someone makes the effort to go onto various sites where my house will be posted and wants to see it, chances are they are in the market for this house, in this neighborhood, at my price point.

I will keep everyone posted on how it goes.  I expect it to be slow.  That’s fine with me, I am not in a hurry.  I will keep it clean and neat, but I am going against all the advice I give, I am not packing away my decor, I am not painting, I am not decluttering.  I am experimenting.  I just decided to throw it out there but I intend to live in it while I am doing this.  I mean really live in it.

I would NOT advise anyone who really wants to sell now to do what I am doing.  I just believe there is a buyer for every house and someone is going to see my house on a web site, walk in, fall in love with it and make an offer.

I am asking the universe for a buyer at the right time, and I expect it to happen. Ask, believe and receive is my credo and I am asking for a buyer, believing I will have that buyer and I see myself receiving the check at closing.

After all the cr** that has happened this year in the real estate market and all the people like me giving advice, asking for business, asking for your trust, I decided to do a complete 180 degree turn around and trust that there is a buyer out there and I refuse to do anything special to get that buyer in my door other than price it right.

I do believe that in this market your house can sell IF you price it right and okay if it looks good.  My house will be priced right and it looks good so I will give you monthly updates with this same title only changing the date.

I am sharing this with all my readers because I do believe in being honest with everyone.  I believe my readers read me because I am honest.  I have earned my seller’s trust as well as my buyer’s trust but don’t do as I do if you need to sell, do as I say in my articles.

I am sure there is a book in here somewhere.
